God's Love Never Lets Go

God's love never lets go. This was the stirring message of
my pastor this morning and it encapsulated my experiences
this week. I felt like I just plodded along; I did things
because they were a habit, and working on this web site has
become a habit. It's an enjoyable one, but I found myself
doubting when I kept getting no responses. I have created
this place, now how do I spark interest? How do I drive
traffic here? It's a lot like opening a brick and mortar
store on the major avenue. Okay, so I have a place and
there's a sign that says "open" but how do I get people in
the door?
I kept working at it, even though at times I wanted to
quit. I'm getting no results, I thought. I doubted
everything, especially if God really is with me on this
endeavor! Did I do something he's not pleased with? Has he
abandoned me?
But I started reaching out in earnest, sharing with online
groups, sending out cards announcing my new site, and
joined MySpace. I began slowly to get the word out and
slowly the responses have been trickling in! And those that
have responded have been like angels to me! In the midst of
my discouragement, I heard encouraging words. Oh how it
helped!
It's funny how later in the week I had a moment to sit down
in stillness and really think. I don't remember what drove
me to it. But I do remember all of a sudden realizing, how
long had it been since I'd really talked to Jesus? Not just
silently, in my head, but like he was sitting in the chair
beside me? I began talking and pouring out my heart to him.
It was cleansing and I cried. This was my first step in
reaching out.
And then there's this situation with my son's school and
our church involvement. It's quite a complicated story, but
involves a lot of searching for wisdom. What school does
God want our son to be in, what church does God wants us to
go to, and if they are different, will we trust in God that
he will provide the extra money? Or the money period?
A very unsettling question. Then Friday I attended my son's
open house for next year's grade. I met the teacher and she
is delightful! We have so much in common, and she is
wonderful! I saw that I cannot yank my son out of where he
is blooming. He is firmly planted and to transplant him now
would really halt is growth. He stays at the school.
But what about church? It is not working at all for our
son, he does not want to go. Then I found out that the
church's worship leader will be out until after Easter and
they need my strong soprano voice for the praise team.
Standing out there this morning, singing to God, I knew
that this was where he wanted me to be. At least until
after the leader's recovery. Yet my husband and son had to
go home, leaving us once again split up.
What were we going to do?
I began to reach out again, to share my struggles. I will
keep sharing my struggles and will even go a step beyond
that: I will offer a solution that could help the whole
church as a body. Maybe my offer will be rejected, but I am
realizing that God's love is not going to let me go. He's
going to give me the courage to ask for what my family
needs.
And I am going to keep plodding along on my work here at
the AngelArts web store. I hope to be a vehicle for God's
glory and that through me God can be an instrument of
inspiration. I will keep working at it, although it's
overwhelming at times. It's worth it! You all are worth it!
Because he is not going to let me go. He will not abandon
me.
And whatever your struggles are, whatever realities or
hardships you face, God is not going to let you go! Because
as someone once said, God loves you and so do I!
